Frozen Fanfiction!
Okay, so no one really commented on my last post, so if ya'll are reading, here is some more.
I'm working on another story idea. It's kinda an alternate ending for Frozen. So enjoy!
Chapter
Two
The
Day of Reckoning
Elsa
couldn't believe she was sitting here, waiting for him! She stood as
started to pace, hands clutched in front of her. She didn't want to
hurt him, despite her hatred. She could feel the anger churning in
her stomach, threatening to spill over. She sat heavily onto her
throne.
Kristoff
was nervous and also slightly angry. He trusted Anna's judgment and
he trusted Elsa and that she could control her power around Hans, but
he wasn't sure that he could trust himself not to punch that dirty no
good snake into the ground. Hans had hurt his wife and his
sister-in-law. Kristoff's good, loving heart couldn't sit and watch
them hurt even more.
Anna was
thoughtful. Was she really ready to forgive Hans? To move on and not
dwell on the past? She stood at the open window, over looking the
fjord. She breathed the sweet sea air and prayed she'd have the
patience and ability to forgive this hurtful man.
“Anna, I
can't do this!” Elsa moaned, head in her hands.
“Elsa,
please? I...” Anna was interrupted by the throne room doors
opening.
“The
princes of the Southern Isles to see you m'lord, m'ladies.” Kia
stated.
Before Elsa
could say anything Anna quickly nodded, “Please show them in.”
Soon, all
four brothers stood before them. Prince Tomas stood on the left with
two others Anna did not recognize . But the fourth, oh did she ever
recognize him. She suddenly felt quite weak. She tried clear her head
but the fogginess of her brain increased. She felt Kristoff's strong,
warm arm around her waist squeezing ever so softly.
“My
lady.” Prince Tomas bowed.
“He
really has a thing with bowing,” thought
Anna, “I wonder if he is embarrassed about what Hans
did.”
Prince
Tomas motioned toward the two brothers on his left. “Allow me to
introduce Prince Erik and Prince Marius.” They both bowed and then
all three stepped back leaving the fourth brother all alone.
“Um...”
Hans shuffled is feet, head bowed, feeling so guilty for even being
there. He didn't wanted to face them. Didn't want to be there,
standing in front of the people he'd hurt so much. He'd almost killed
Anna! And Elsa for that matter. All for power. What had he been
thinking!? With that though his head shot up, his eyes looking for
Anna. At first his eyes landed on Elsa. She had such burn hatred in
those clear blue eyes of hers that Hans had to quickly look away. And
then he found her. Anna. The mountain man, Kristoff, he thought his
name was, stood with his arm around her. She looked so pretty, red
hair laying against her green dress. He shook his head.
“I
lied to them. I lied to myself, thinking what I was doing was helping
the people of Arendelle. I...”
Hans started to sob. He fell on his knees and held his head with his
hands. “Anna, please, please forgive me! I was a fool!” Hans
couldn't continue. Sobs shook his body.
Anna,
watched this in silence. She couldn't tell if it was an act or not.
Finally, she listened to her heart. She pulled from Kristoff and
walked to Hans. She knelt and whispered in his ear. “Hans, I... I
forgive you.”
Hans'
sobs increased. Anna stood and turned to the brothers. “I forgive
him.” Tears started to poor down her cheeks. She quickly tried to
hid them, but soon gave up and just let them poor. She turned to
Kristoff and hid her face in his chest. Sobs convulsed her body.
“Anna,
honey, are you alright?” Kristoff's voice held a note of worry and
for that Anna loved him all the more.
“Yes,
I...” Anna gasped, trying to catch her breath, “I'm fine
Kristoff. I haven't felt this good in a long time. I feel so... so
free!” She hiccuped then causing Kristoff to smile and hug her
closer to him.
“I
wish...I wish I felt like that. Free”
thought Hans. He still felt captured. He turned to Elsa. Her eyes
were mostly on her sister, but her they seemed to be flickering
between him and Anna. “She's still angry. And the sad
thing is I don't blame her. I deserve it.”
Hans stood then and turned to Elsa, feeling braver then he had at the
start.
“My
queen I ...”
“I
am not your queen!” She snapped, “I'll never be your queen and I
shall never, ever
forgive you!” and with that Elsa flew out the door at the back of
the room.
“Elsa?
Elsa wait!” Anna shouted as she ran after Elsa, leaving Kristoff
and Hans alone.
“Well...” Kristoff shrugged unsure how to
proceed. He turned to look at Hans' brothers silently pleading for
them to help. They didn't.
“Please, Kristoff, I beg your forgiveness.” Hans'
voice pleaded.
“Why?
Why should I forgive you? You don't deserve it.” Kristoff turned to
walk out of the room when he heard a quite voice.
“No,
I don't.”
Kristoff stopped and turned back to Hans, “What did
you say?”
“I
said I don't deserve to be forgiven. No one really does. But it's
what we need to do, isn't it? And even if you don't want to forgive
me now, I'll wait. Forgiveness heals the heart. The heart of the one
asking and the heart of the one giving forgiveness.”
With
that Hans bowed. “M'lord,” he said and turned to leave.
“Wait,
Hans,” Kristoff stepped of the dais and hurried to him, grabbing
his forearm “I...I forgive you. Please, forgive me for being
so slow to follow my wife example.” Kristoff paused for a moment,
“You want all of us to forgive you?”
Hans
nodded.
“Then
why don't you and your brothers stay here? We have room.”
“I
don't think Queen Elsa would like that.”
“Queen
Elsa will get over it,” Anna said, entering the throne room the
same way she left, but looking a deal angrier, “It's my house as
much as hers. And right now I don't care what I do to make her mad!”
She smiled then, “Hans, you are welcome to stay here. And your
brothers as well.” She said nodding to the princes.
“Thank
you princess, “ Prince Tomas replied, “We gladly except.”
“Sure
beats sleeping on our boat,” Marius whispered to Erik, who nodded
in agreement.
“Come
I'll show you to your rooms,” and with that Anna and Kristoff
invited a war into there home.
Chapter
Three
The
Day of Forgiveness
Elsa
was so angry she'd frozen half of her room. Anna had invited
that...that traitor into her home! He'd been there a month, along
with his stupid brothers. Anna had told her they'd stay there until
she could forgive Hans from her heart. She didn't think she could
ever do that and she couldn't stay here herself. She couldn't take it
anymore! She had to get out of there, now!
Elsa
quietly eased the door open and hurried through the corridor. She
rounded the corner and...smack...
ran into Hans. Her arms flailed and she started to fall. But she
never hit the ground. A hand had grabbed her waist and pulled her to
her feet.
“Glad
I caught you.” He smiled. “Are you alright, m'lady?”
“I'm
fine.” She couldn't bring herself to say anything rude or hurtful.
His arm was still around her waist, and in a strange way, she didn't
mind it. Which made her mad. Why didn't she pull away? She turned her
face to look into his. She saw a question, a question she didn't want
to answer. “Please, let me go Hans! I don't want to hurt you!”
“How
can you hurt a man with a frozen heart?” he laughed bitterly,
“Come, you know that I have one. Don't worry, Elsa. It'd would be
very hard for you to hurt me.” Her face looked slightly angry
“Really, Elsa? Please, please forgive me. I can't move on til you
do.”
She
didn't know what to say. She pulled from his grip. “Well,” she
cleared her throat, “if you'll excuse me, I must go.” She scooted
around him hurried away.
Hans
was confused. What had he seen in her face? Confusion. But it was
something more. Was it...forgiveness? No, it couldn't be possible.
After all he'd done? Why even get his hopes up.
“I
can't even tell them, her, the whole truth,” He
thought as he looked down at his gloved hands. His brothers had told
him not to tell anyone. They hated him. He'd killed his mother by
being born. She lost her life giving him his. That's why his oldest
three brothers had ignored him for as long as they could. But at two,
the powers had shown there ugly existence. Gloves kept them at bay,
but they still hurt. Hurt him and hurt others. He had scars to prove
it. He wished...but why wish? Wishing hurt to much. He'd wished for
years, and what good had it done? Wishing had made him hurt the
people of Arendelle. He'd wanted to be accepted. He should of just
married Anna and been content. Now she had Kristoff, and he was
alone. Again. Shut out even more by his family and the life he'd
hated,but now longed for.
Hans
closed his eyes, and slumped against the wall. His head hurt and his
hands were starting to burn. The powers got worse when he was
stressed. Why had Tomas, Erik and Marius thought this was such a good
idea to stay here? He was bound to show someone his powers or hurt
someone with them.
“Why?”
Hans questioned to no one. “Why me? Why do I have them? Why did
this happen to me?”

Elsa
fled the castle and ran through the city. She made it to the docks.
She could walk on the water, but that involved freezing the it and
she hated making a spectacle of herself. She turned from the water
and looked up at the mountain the town was built into.
“I
could go up there, but what good would that do?”
She
closed her eyes. An unwanted image popped into her mind. Hans. His
face a mask of pain and grief. All he'd wanted was forgiveness. Why
couldn't she give that to him? She hated that he was the reason
everyone new her powers, yet she was thankful. He'd helped her open
up to her sister. She had Anna back. Why was she so vehement that she
would not forgive him? He was trying to move on, to repent. And she
wasn't helping! Why, she needed to be forgiven again herself. By him.
By
then, Elsa had made up her mind to return to the castle and talk to
Hans. But, as she turned to go she felt something hard smack her head
and then she was surrounded by black.

“Oh,
Kristoff! Where is she?” Anna was beside herself with fear. Elsa
had left before lunch. She often went out for hours, but she was
always home before darkness fell. But Elsa hadn't come home. It was
dark out. Anna was worried for her sister. Elsa could hold her own,
she knew that. But why was she so worried now? Her mind told her she
was being silly, but her heart told her to worry.
“Anna,
I've sent out guards. They're looking for her. Don't worry, my love.
We will find her.”
“But
what if...” Anna was interrupted but a knock on the door.
“Enter!” Kristoff responded, hoping it was the
guards with news.
Instead
Hans walked. His face looked white and his hands were visibly
shaking. “Anna, Kristoff. I know where she is.”
“WHAT!”
Kristoff flew done the stairs, grabbing Hans by the collar. “You
tell me what you know or I will pound you into tomorrow. If you have
betrayed us again, I swear to you Hans, I'll see to you execution
myself!”
“Kristoff, please calm down.” Anna still sat on
the throne. She'd been so tired lately. And it wasn't due to Hans and
his brothers. At least she didn't think so. But right now she had
Elsa to worry about. She motioned for Hans to come closer. “Tell us
what you know.”
Hans
looked at Kristoff, who reluctantly let go of Hans' shirt.
“Well,
I must start at the beginning,” Hans started as he slowly moved to
stand before her, “I was hired to kill Elsa.”
Anna
gasped. So he had lied about taking over the throne?
“Hired
by who?” she asked.
Hans
cleared his throat, “By my brothers.”
“Which
ones?” questioned Kristoff.
Hans
dropped his head kicking at the carpet. “The three here with me.”
He looked up at them and saw that Anna's eyes were filled with
tears.
“So,
what's going on now? Why are you here with them? You failed the first
time.” Kristoff asked, confusion written on his face.
“So
had they. They've been here before, or at least, they tried to come
into the castle. But no one was getting anywhere with Elsa because
she kept herself locked up. They eventually gave up. But on her
coronation day, they knew she'd have to open the gates. The people
would demand nothing less. So they hired me, literally paid me money,
to try and kill her or get the throne some way.”
“So
you did it against you will?” Kristoff asked, as he knelt next to
Anna taking her hand in his.
“No,
not tactically. I wanted to do it, but it was because I wanted to
prove to my brother that I was good enough.”
“Because they ignored you?” Anna asked, whipping
away the tears.
“No...”
Hans turned his head, wanting to look anywhere but them. His eyes
landed on the fire place, which had two huge logs on it. Did he dare
tell them about his powers? He'd never shown anyone before. Had been
forced to kept it a secret. “Just like Elsa.” he thought.
He turned his face back to them. “They hated me, because I killed
my mother by being born.”
“Oh,
Hans!” Anna's tears started down her face again.
“They
basically ignored me, especially the older older three. But they hate
me more because...” He looked at his hand and shakily removed the
gloves, “....of this.” And with a flick of his wrist an burst of
flame shot into the fire place, setting the logs a blaze. Slowly Hans
looked back at the couple on the dais. There mouths hung open. He
looked back down at the carpet. He wondered how they would respond.
“Oh
my!” Anna breathed. How had he hidden this for so long? He was only
twenty years old! And fire would have been so much harder to hid then
ice. She pealed her eyes from the roaring fire place and settled them
on Hans. Tears again burst into her eyes and slowly trailed down her
cheeks. Ugh! She hated crying so much.
Kristoff just stared. He did know what to say but
this changed everything. Why hadn't he used his powers to stop Elsa?
“Um...”
Hans cleared his throat, sensing what they wanted to know, “I never
used them because everyone in my family hated me for them, even my
father. I was afraid everyone would if I used them.” He shook his
head, “I know that's no excuse for what I did. I know you've
forgiven me, but I still am sorry for what I've done. I’ve been
here a month, now, and I fear I’ll be here another five before Elsa
will forgive me.”
“If
we find her,” Anna whispered, tears still trailing down here
cheeks, “Excuse me.” She fled from the room slamming the door
behind her.
“I
should go after her,” Kristoff groaned, eyes on the closed door,
“But she has been crying over the silliest thing recently and I
don’t...” He turned back, realizing who he was talking to.
“You
should go after her,” Hans agreed, “But please, give me
permission to go and get Elsa.”
“Wait...what? You want to go after her?” Kristoff
asked, puzzled. “Why?”
“I
feel...I just...I need to.” He shrugged, “I don't know why. But I
know I need to do this. Please Kristoff. Let me go after her.”
Kristoff slowly nodded. “Take the largest ship you
need, as many guards you need, or a horse from the stables.”
“Thank
you.” Hans bowed, “Tell Anna, Elsa will return to her. Upon my
life, she shall return!”

Hans
stood on the deck of the ship wondering what he was thinking.
“Will
she even let me save her?” He wondered. He slumped over the
railing of the ship staring down into the sea.
“Sir
Hans,” called the helms man, “Ship of the port side!”
Hans
turned and saw the ship. It was pretty close. He could tell that they
had dropped anchor. Hans squinted. “Oh, there they are.”
He sighed and turn to the captain. “Sir. Please have the whole crew
go below deck and stay there until I return with queen Elsa.”
“But
Hans, how do you expect to get to the ship?”
“I
have my ways, Captain Jonas.
Now please, simply obey me!”
“aye,
sir.” The captain mumbled. He wasn't used to taking orders on his
own ship. “All men below deck!” He cried as he stalked away.
Hans
rubbed his eyes with his thumb and middle finger. He didn't want to
do this. But his heart told hm to. How else would Elsa ever learn to
forgive him. He didn't want to admit what his heart was also telling
him. By seeking her forgiveness for a solid month, by living under
the same roof, and by seeing each other, even just in passing, that
he was falling in love. She was graceful and beautiful. His mind had
be a muddle for a while, now. Thoughts about her and just hearing the
words, “I forgive you,” from he lips made his heart flutter.
He
sighed again, shaking the cobwebs from his mind. He needed all his
strength for this task. It took a lot of mental consideration to walk
on his fire. Especially across water. It threatened to puff the fire
of.
Hans
waited until the ship under him stopped completely, then bent and
remove his shoes. That done, he removed his gloves. Taking a deep
breath, he stood up on the railing of the ship, closed his eyes and
stepped off.
